OUR PHYSIOTHERAPIST

The physiotherapist team is made up of knowledgeable, experienced professionals.  They are registered physiotherapist at the Health professionals counsil of south africa (HPCSA) and are a member of the South African society of physiotherapy (SASP).

THE TEAM

MERIZE THERON JONES

I have completed my BSc Physiotherapy honors degree at the University Of Pretoria (TUKS).

I did the following post graduate courses:

  • Sports Physiotherapy
  • Dry Needling
  • Kinesiology Taping
  • The TMJ and Sinus Pain Course
  • Electrical Muscle Stimulation
  • and many others.

INTERESTS

MERIZE has been practicing in sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy for over 8 years treating patients with various sports injuries. This also includes back and neck pain and post-operative orthopaedic cases, whiplash injuries, TMJ injuries, lungtreatments, sinus treatments etc.

She has a personal interest in and spending time with her family, Mountain bike riding, horseback riding, hiking etc.

WHAT WE DO

  • SOFT TISSUE MOBILITATIONS

It is the assessment, treatment and management of soft tissue injuries and pain.

  • MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

A handson technique that involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the affected area.

  • KINESIOLOGY TREATMENT

KINESIO TAPING gives stability and support to joints and muscles without affecting circulation and joint range of motion and is often use for preventive maintenance and to treat pain.

  • STRENGHT MOBILATATIONS

Strength training is a method of building muscle mass and strength.

  • JOINT MOBILITATIONS

A therapy technique comprising of continuous skilled passive movements to the joint and varying speeds and amplitudes.

  • REHABILITATION FOLLOWING ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY

Focuses on the treatment or rehabilitation of injuries to the orthopaedic system, which includes muscles, bones, joints, tendons and ligaments.

  • POSTURAL CORRECTION AND ADVICE

Posture is the position in which you hold your body upright against gravity while standing, sitting of laying down.

  • DRY NEEDLING

A treatment that involves a very thin needle being pushed through the skin to stimulate a triggerpoint and relieve pain.

45 minute sessions

Our 45 minute sessions are specifically designed to be helpful and effective due to our hands on approach and effective research based practices.

RATES

Medical aid rates are charged and directly submitted.

Private packages is also available.
